Music & Drama are thriving in the southern suburbs of Melbourne with MelodyDramatics being launched for 6-16 year olds in 2014. Professional actor Lucinda Cowden and noted Melbourne musician Fiona Lee Maynard have joined forces to establish a new music and drama school that will focus on teaching both the joy and technical aspects of performing through acting and music. " We knew that whatever we put together would be fun for us and the kids - our focus is very much on helping each child/teenager bring their inner voice and finding the confidence to express themselves in performance and life." The school officially opens for Term 3 this year; "We will start with Saturday morning classes for now but have plans to introduce both school holiday and weekday classes from January next year," said Lucinda. "Initially we have a set number of places that we are offering but we're also taking names for a waiting list so we'll be ready to go with the extra elements of the program in 2015," said Fiona. Lucinda was a regular on Neighbours, hosted her own children's TV show in the UK for five years & more recently has been performing in various Melbourne theatre productions. Fiona is a singer, multi-instrumentalist & recording Artist; writing songs & performing them around Australia & USA for the past 30 years.
